My story begins with a Polaroid camera. They say love at first sight doesn’t exist, but my 9 year old heart fell hard for photography. Capturing the beauty of life, whether it was a photo of a delicate flower or my annoying little sister, drew me to the art form instantly. I knew that my love for the camera wasn’t just a crush. This is a life-long relationship, and my passion for it keeps growing.
In 2004, I got my first DSLR camera. I had been modeling for 8 years prior, and working with mostly male photographers. I felt that my modeling photos were missing something: a feminine touch. I hoped to use my camera to shoot photos of myself, but soon found that it was very tedious to test lighting on myself, so I started taking photos of my friends.
A weekend hobby became a full-time career when I became a staff photographer for SuicideGirls in 2005. I was in love with modern boudoir and pin-up photography. My experience with shooting for them inspired me to focus specifically on creating sexy, fun and unique images that reflected my subjects’ personalities.
After shooting for SuicideGirls, I moved on to working for various magazines, websites, and pop culture publications. I shot hundreds of famous actors and musicians, but I also continued to shoot pin-up photography in my spare time. In addition, my passion for boudoir photography led to my own recurring glamour feature series for various web properties. My modern glamour photography has been published in books, calendars, magazines, video games, in movies, on clothing and more.
In 2012, I started my own glamour photography website, iheartgirls.com. I wanted a site of my own, where I could shoot my friends and showcase their unique and special personalities. In my spare time, I dedicated myself to shooting these images that I am so proud of. I live for the moment when I show a person their photos, their eyes light up, and they say, “I look amazing!” After receiving hundreds of requests, the next step was obvious: Pretty Camera Boudoir.
All of my photography experience has led to this moment in my career. I love helping women to look and feel their most stunning. I love creating these perfect moments in time, capturing each person’s one-of-a-kind beauty. And I love the relationships I’ve formed along the way, making each photo shoot intimate, meaningful and fulfilling.
